Following the blockbuster, award winning, critically acclaimed, (penned) cinematic master piece that is my magnum opus, the Long 15, is Wheel in the Sky.
Wheel in the Sky is the after party. Like drawing a rare double-backer card from the shoe, Vincent drew blanks as to what he expected all those months ago standing at the top of the Lucky 38. This is the inevitable hangover from the conclusion of the second battle at Hoover Dam. Wheel in the Sky ties up as many loose ends as it unravels. My goal with these series of short stories is to speculate on the impact of the war. What is happening in New Vegas? What's the state of New California? What's going on with the people who exist in this era?
Wheel in the Sky is 99% complete at 11 chapters. I say 99% complete because I never intended for it to truly be finished. There's much to explore in post-war New Vegas. The 11 published chapters are the meat of it, the most important stuff which I have fleshed out during an in-universe time-span of 2-3 years. I have more ideas I want to expand, and also not hold back with, because honestly, post-apocalyptic life is dark. Alas, I also want to not be edgy, It's a delicate balance.
Any new chapters published in Wheel in the Sky will be denoted by being a decimal chapter (e.g. 8.1 or 5.3). This signals where that story chronologically takes place.
Topics From the Void
From the Void is a world building project first and foremost. This world is very dear to me and, frankly, I haven't been writing any new content despite my ever growing to-do list This is something I have been working on for years and because it is original, because it is unique, because I love it, and because it is mine, I wish to execute it correctly.
My procrastination project, the Long 15, has served its purpose which was to hone my writing skills. That is an ongoing progress, though I'm confident my skills have improved so, I wish to update complete From the Void content for clarity, readability, and style while creating new content as well. Part of this work includes web design and art to achieve the visual presentation necessary, namely for The Andeamer, which is supposed to include more art, diagrams, etc., than it currently has—and potentially more lore.
Ënokhan—the language of the andeamer already has a simple lexicon with a good amount words and language examples. I am continuing to flesh out the language because it's strangely relaxing.
Lore Bits—these are little things you'd find in universe. Letters, art, history, books, and short stories.
More Art—all of this began with art.
And of course, The Three Headed Beast which is a beast of its own to tackle. I actually have the entire story outlined and ready to go, but I'm not sold on my own execution of it yet.
Hell's Bells
Vincent agrees to search for an old working man’s missing daughter, but somewhere on the way he takes a wrong turn down the highway to hell.
Oh no, not another procrastination project... I must go where creativity leads.
This is a part of the Long 15 and takes place after Wheel in the Sky. Going back to expanding on ideas and not holding back on the content, this is a departure from the established world. It's honing skills while writing for fun, creating an absurd liminal stage that dabbles in horror while confronting truths about our protagonist.
This is still in the development stage—a.k.a. the worst stage of writing (for me); it's the endless cycle of changing, adding things in between the first and last chapter like a chef mixing spices until creating the perfect flavor—but the story as a beginning, middle, and end is complete.
Lastly,
I edit like crazy, double check for errors, grammar, spelling. I wish I could say I was done with editing the Long 15, but I'm always find some new dumb, teeny, tiny, li'l error (and better ways to word some negligible detail, as I do).
Finally, I'm one person doing all this as a hobby. Publishing literature and art may be slow—I do like to take my time to create something of quality, so with all that, I hope something I've created has brought joy to someone out there, even if a tiny bit.
